You have probably seen a sign that read “Car for Sale,” but have you ever seen a sign that said “Carport for Sale”? If you do see such a sign, you can almost bet that the offered carport is a used carport.

Whenever a present day carport goes on sale, there is a good chance that it is a second hand carport. As society gets pressured to reuse more and more items, it should not seem too strange to hear about the sale of used carports. Today, even large carmakers are reusing various items, in order to fashion “greener” vehicles.

Of course, if a homeowner wants a modern carport, then he or she does not look for a sign that says “Carports for Sale.” That homeowner might want to look for an advertisement that reads “Carport kits for Sale.”

An environmentally conscious homeowner might want to look for a “green kit,” in other words a kit that has parts made from refashioned items. The makers of the markers used to indicate a construction site along the roadway have taken to using various items, items refashioned from things that were about to be discarded. That same approach might be used to make the various items in a carport kit.

One question that the homeowner might want to ask a carport builder would relate to the lighting of the carport. How would the builder plan to wire the lighting fixtures attached to the planned carport? Can an electrical line from the house be extended out to the future site of a carport? The homeowner ought to seek answers to those questions.

Parents of teenagers might like the idea of replacing a garage with a carport. Then they could be certain that their son or daughter was not “entertaining” a date in a car, a car that was hidden inside of a garage.
