Aluminum Carports – Shelter from Sunshine, Snow, or Rain

by Raymond Wallace

You cannot afford the cost of hiring a contractor to build a garage on your property. But, you know the sun is going to be beating down on your car and house. In the winter, you get tired of trudging through the snow to get in your vehicle. Rain is equally frustrating, especially when you are all ready for the office, and you get drenched before even pulling out of the driveway. Sunshine, snow, or rain, you should seek shelter with aluminum carports.

The Benefits of a Carport Kit

aluminumcarport1The great thing about aluminum carport kits is the ready to assemble pieces and the customer friendly directions. Even if building things are not your forte, you should be able to put up a carport in a couple of days. You can even decide whether to make it a permanent structure, or something you can disassemble when needed. So, if you are a renter, you do not have to worry about getting permission from the landlady to protect your vehicle.

In addition to being portable or permanent, you can build an overhead structure that fits the size of anything you have on wheels. Whether you have a compact car or a motor home, you can find a kit that will meet your specific needs. You do not have to settle for one size fits all.

In addition to picking the size of your carport kit, you can choose your color. The materials already come in several different colors. But, if you want a specific color to match your residence, the carport can be painted to match the exterior of your home.

You do not need a Car

You do not need a car to enjoy the benefits of a carport. Do you have a porch or a patio you would love to use during the summer months; but, you have no shelter from the sun’s rays or the occasional drizzle? Your problem is solved! You can use an aluminum carport kit to build a fashionable awning for your home.

Imagine being able to invite friends over for a summer barbeque and not running into the house every time it starts to sprinkle. In fact, you can actually sit outside and enjoy the smell of rain, during a gentle shower.

Would you like a place to bring out the lawn chairs and enjoy the summer day in the shade, without worrying whether your skin will turn to leather? Would you be outside more, if it was just a little cooler? You can build a fashionable awning for your home, for a fraction of the cost of a stick built addition to your house.

Freestanding

If you want a roof overhead, for any reason, and it will not be attached to an existing structure, it is not a problem with aluminum carports. Regardless of the size, the shelter is sturdy enough to stand on its own. So, if you want to build an outdoor barbeque pit, with a shelter to keep the unexpected shower from drowning your meal, you should get a carport kit.

In short, whether you want a permanent or temporary sheltered place to park your car, aluminum carport kits are a quick and relatively inexpensive solution. If you want a barrier against the elements, so you can enjoy entertaining company, or just lounging around outside, a carport can easily be converted to a great awning for your home that can be painted to match your siding. But, if you have another idea for a simple barrier against the elements, an aluminum carport is as good as your imagination.

I LIVE IN RHODE ISLAND 60 FEET FROM SALT WATER AND ANYTHING STEEL, GALVANIZED OR PAINTED WILL RUST FAST. VINYL COVERED STEEL MAY STAND A CHANCE. HENCE, I NEED AN ALL ALUMINUM, 2 CAR ATTACHED 20′ W X 20 ‘ LONG, FLAT OR “W” PAN CARPORT ALL WHITE OR LIGHT CREAM COLOR.
NO BARE STEEL SCREWS, ETC.. STN. STEEL 316 IS GOOD. WINTER WINDS ARE PRETTY STRONG. MOUNTING ON MY ASPHALT DRIVEWAY WHICH HAS ABOUT A 2 DEGREE PITCH. NO GUTTERS NEEDED. SIDE AWNING RETRACTABLE ON ONE SIDE WOULD BE NICE. I FIGURE 6 OR 8 POSTS FOR MAX. STRENGTH AGAINST WIND.
