Carports

A garden carport can create an attractive addition to your home, while providing shade for vehicles and passengers.  This structure can be as simple as a canvas tent designed for one or more vehicles, a metal structure set up close or attached to the home.  A well-crafted addition complete with a carport trellis so you can add plants or flowers to enclose the space making it a nice outdoor oasis.

Garden carports can be matched to the design and color of a home, and can be directly attached leading out to a garden or patio area.  To make a carport look even better, you can try to match the trellis as well.  A trellis provides much needed shade on the sides of the shelter and it also helps the shelter blend into its environment.

A less expensive solution to provide shade and shelter from the weather for the patio and garden area, is vinyl carport and patio covers.  Such carports can be in the form of a canopy that is supported by a simple pole frame, or fully enclosed gazebo style units that are sturdier in bad weather.  The fully enclosed unit is best for temporary shelter for seasonal storage of cars or simply as an outdoor living space.

If you have plenty of room in your budget, you can get even more creative with your garden and parking space.  Finding ways to have both can be difficult in high density urban areas, where many city dwellers have to pay an exorbitant premium for parking and garden space.  To solve this problem, a London resident installed a unique carport garden, combining his garden space and carport space together; the carport sinks into the ground once the car is parked, leaving nothing but a beautifully landscaped garden.

Whether your budget is big or small, you can find a decorative carport to suit your needs.  Adding a carport gate and a trellis to the design will only increase the shelter beauty and function.  Later on you may even want to buy a garden shed to compliment the design. You should have no problem enjoying your carport for many years to come.
