Cheap carports are a good option if you have a limited budget and yet still need something to cover your car, greenhouse, pets, or whatever it is that you have outside that needs covering.  Getting a cheap carport will not cost you that much, offers good protection from the elements and in fact can save you money by protecting items that are quite costly.  You can get carports that are big enough to cover a few vehicles or even an RV, or ones that are smaller and will simply cover your one car or offer shelter for a few pets.

Getting a cheap metal carport is a good option.  Cheap metal carports are made either of aluminum or steel and they offer good protection against the elements.  You can also get one that is simply a cloth canopy.  This kind is cheaper to buy than a metal shelter and is a lot easier to set up by yourself or with a friend or family member helping you.  The one disadvantage to this kind of carport, however, is that the cloth, despite the fact that it is good quality and made to withstand the elements, will need to be replaced every several years or so.  It simply does not last as long as a metal structure.

A good place to shop for cheap carports is the Internet.  You will often get not only price quotations but also a picture of what the carport will look like once it is set up.  This helps you to see if this is actually the style that you want for your yard.
