Carport Kits, Carports

Carports may be needed for a variety of reasons other than just protection for your vehicle. Aluminum carport designs come in so many varieties and sizes that you should not have any trouble finding the design to suit your needs. Carports can be used for protection over sports utility vehicles or boats, and they have been used for covering for animals, feed, and even used as temporary coverings for family functions or picnics.

Aluminum carports are usually freestanding structures. There are many aluminum carport kits that are available either through a carport dealer, online, or at many of the major hardware stores. Some of the different carport designs are stationary, A-frame, soft top or canvas, and hard top.

A stationary aluminum car port anchored just outside your door can be the solution for having to walk down the drive to get your car in the snow or rain. Some garages in homes may be located to the rear of the property and not attached to the house. With the ease of availability, carports seem to be popping up everywhere.

A-frame carports are used for larger vehicles that may not fit inside your garage for your daily use vehicles. The roof is sloped so if you get a lot of snow in your area it will not collect and compromise your structure. This style of carport can be a solid roof or canvas. They can also come with removable sides to offer weather protection for temporary or permanent housing for seasonal vehicles such as boats and recreational vehicles.

Many aluminum shelters are used as tents for special events. Most aluminum structures with soft sides or canvas can be easily set up or collapsed for transport to and from an event. The lightweight materials make it a little easier to setup and take down when needed.

Hard top aluminum carport plans are available in kits and also there are designer companies that offer sleek roof top designs that can accentuate the design of your home. Most kits can be put together in one to three days and you do not need a lot of tools to assemble. You can also add on optional rain gutters to some of these carport designs. These take a little more time to assemble because you will need to anchor them as a permanent structure.

Other useful way to use an aluminum carport design is for farm animals, lawn equipment; the list is as endless as the creative mind will go. The ease in assembly, and the different sizes readily available, 10×10, 10×20, 12×20, 12×24, 20×20, means you can probably find the right carport for any of your needs. You can also have a custom aluminum carport kit specifically created to fit even large or commercial storage needs.
